Proposed event in Arkansas

Postby Blackthorn on Tue Aug 26, 2008 3:07 am

Since we have an acreage bought and paid for, we are finally able to build the faire we always wanted. We have begun building the jousting arena and clearing land for a marketplace. Merchants are beginning to contact us for the planned fall 2009 opening of the "Blackthorne Village Renaissance Faire."
We are debating whether to run one or two weekends. We are encouraging the building of permanent structures but allowing tent merchants as well. I will make further announcements as we get things finalized.

As long as it doesn't interfere with Great Plains, you can count on Mother Wench Productions and The Wench's Thistle. If I get my tent back, that is.

With the return of Tori's two oldest children and their imminent purchase of a home to hold their growing family, we have decided to hold off the re-opening of Mother Wench Productions to 2010 or beyond. Tori will most likely have to leave her educational pursuits and take on full- or part-time employment to help Justin make ends meet. I may re-open the custom costuming and wedding portion, so that I can make some extra money, but that will depend on my own life situations.

However, that does not mean that Captains Reddington, Tremblay and Sparrow will not be attending events. We just won't be merchanting them. We are currently working to put together a Pirate Court, should anyone be interested. Ah, the joys of becoming a reprobate! LOL!

Wicked minds think alike, eh? Yes, we've all moved over to the dark side and are enjoying it immensely!

I'll be in touch with you after I can sit down with the crews next month and we can sort out what we would like to do and what we would like to put together as a permanent set-up on your site. We'll have to put together a knock-down for the soft events but. where we have a "base," I'd like to see a hard set. And I don't want to put my ideas out here for public view. Know what I mean, Vern?

Rob and Marla it's good to hear you're putting together a faire. I hope it turns out allright weather wise and ect. Are you having a live steel tourny as well as a jousting tourny? it would be cool to see all the knights in their armor going at it hand to hand. Personally I prefer a spear to sword though. It's good to hear from the two of you and again I hope your event is a great success. You'll have to message me your phone number. I'll talk to you later

I just found this site and was looking around. I live here in Arkansas in the Little Rock Area. I have a renaissance business...garb and things of fae (fairy stuff). I would be most interested in learning about this faire.
